u3a North East
At the AGM on 24th April 2026 the name of this u3a regional network was changed from Northumbria to North East

We meet three or four times per year at various locations within our area. Information about future meetings and the minutes and other information about previous meetings, can be found on the Events page.
We use emails to keep members of all the u3as in the region informed. We use a system called Beacon for this purpose. Many of these emails are sent to the Chairs and Business Secretaries of the u3as for them to arrange onward circulation to their members. Individual members can request a personal email to be sent to them here: Request for emails. Please include the name of your u3a in the request.

Founded in 1982, u3a is a UK-wide collection of locally-run groups that provide a wide range of opportunities to come together to learn for fun. People enjoy exploring new ideas, skills and activities together. There are over 1,000 u3as with over 380,000 members; membership costs on average less than £20/year and is open to everyone who is no longer in full-time work.
